Promax wanted the conference and awards to reflect the way in which those in
branding, advertising, marketing and promotion are being asked to work beyond
their normal comfort zones. The broad theme of the brief was Beyond the Box.
Early on we decided to simplify the title to 'Beyond'.

Bespoke Typeface


Promax UK needed to fully represent our cross-platform world. We aimed to create
a stronger interaction between Promax and its attendees - reflecting and sharing
creativity both in and out of comfort zones. Creating a mutually beneficial experience,
breaking down boundaries, inspiring dialogue and building a sense of community.

The bespoke font was developed in-house for use across all communication platforms.


Multimedia

We planned to use as many platforms as possible - cross-promoting, sharing, and
linking all media with one tangible thread. A shared identity that goes beyond the
big screen and onto the wall - via paper, pixels, forums and live interactive experiences.

The call for entries took the form of a newspaper. Tactile, recycled, an antidote
to all things digital - and never going to run out of battery.


On-screen

The Beyond logo is de-constructed into it's constituent elements and taken on a
seamless journey through an abstracted representation of the world of podcast, print,
P2PTV, television, mobile and web. Animation by Richard Acton. Music by Freefarm.

Using a bespoke series of graphic icons, the Beyond brand represents media platforms
relevant to broadcasters today. We took advantage of developments in bluecasting
technologies to create 3 animated movies that were sent via bluetooth to conference
attendee's mobile phones. Animation by Richard Acton. Music by Freefarm.
